I had a pleasant one-night stay at the B&B. The room on the top floor, with a traditional breakfast, was small but comfortable. The lack of an en-suite toilet was a minor inconvenience. The friendly service and great location made up for it, though the dining experience could use improvement.

Rooms

The top floor room with traditional breakfast was very small and did not have an en-suite toilet, but it was comfortable and ideal for a one-night stay.

The B&B staff were very very very friendly, welcoming, and provided helpful advice on getting around. The location was convenient for exploring the city.
Location

The location was good, about a 20-25 minute walk to the city center but in a nice area. Easy access to public transport options.
Dining

The dining experience, especially the breakfast, could be improved with more fresh products and less pre-packaged items.
Facilities

Basic facilities were available, but nothing extraordinary was provided. The value for the price paid was fair.

I was lucky to stay in a top-floor room, providing a good workout with lovely views. The period property's cold room was offset by convenience to transport links and nearby independent businesses offering great amenities like coffee shops, music stores, and exhibition centers within walking distance.

Rooms

The room on the top floor was a bit cold but had great views and was suitable for our needs, located in a period property. Conveniently situated on a main transport route with excellent independent businesses nearby.
Service

The service during my stay, especially during the Fringe festival, was superb, with attentive and informative staff who were very friendly and polite.
Location
9.0
The location was ideal, being close to the main attractions in the city, with a walkable distance to the city center, grass market, John McIntyre Conference Centre, making it suitable for solo or business travelers.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience offered a nice selection of cereals, packaged pastries, yogurts, bread, and fillings. However, it would benefit from including more fresh food instead of packaged items.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were pleasant, but there was room for improvement in providing fresher food options and enhancing the overall dining experience.

The hotel is perfect for us due to its location in a period property on a main transport route with excellent independent businesses nearby. The room was a bit small but very comfortable, although it felt cold at times. It's also not far from the town center, making it convenient for exploring the main views of the streets.

Rooms

The room was a bit small but very comfortable. The location is excellent for walking to nearby attractions like the boulangerie with good coffee and croissants, a record shake shop for music, and the Royal Scottish Museum for exhibitions.
Service
9.0
I appreciated the friendly service, including getting directions for sightseeing, a warm welcome, and even a lovely breakfast in our room with croissants, juice, tea, coffee, milk, fruit, and cookies waiting for us.
Location
9.5
The hotel's location is fantastic, within walking distance to the city center and close to several independent businesses. It's ideal for those traveling solo or for work due to its proximity to shops and regular bus routes.
Dining
7.5
The dining experience was quite generous with an assortment of toast, crumpets, croissants, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, and fruit juice. However, it was a bit disappointing to find mostly packaged food options.
Facilities

The hotel offers basic facilities suitable for a comfortable stay. However, it would be nice to have more variety in the dining options.
